Add ShipShop to your Shopify store

Bring your Shopify orders into ShipShop, download the ShipShop theme file, and add a Ship with ShipShop button or checkout page to your store. Every step, click by click.

Overview

What you can do

Bring in your orders

Import your Shopify order export into ShipShop. Pick a courier, print labels, collect COD and track parcels — Part 2. (Automatic store connection will come when the ShipShop Shopify app is live.)

Add the ShipShop block

Download the theme file and add a “Ship with ShipShop” button or checkout page to your store — Parts 3 and 4.

Good to know: ShipShop does not take payments through any of this. Your customers pay through Shopify’s own checkout and your own payment methods; ShipShop books the shipment. Shopify does not allow a downloadable plugin file, which is why the download is a theme file that you add to your theme. The ShipShop app for Shopify is not live yet, so these manual steps are how you use ShipShop with Shopify today.

Before you start

What you need

  • A ShipShop account with your KYC completed and at least one pickup address (Dashboard → Settings).
  • Admin access to your Shopify store (you can open Online Store → Themes).
  • For the theme file: an Online Store 2.0 theme (Dawn and most themes made since 2021). Not sure? Part 3 shows how to tell.
Part 2

Bring your Shopify orders into ShipShop (import)

The ShipShop app for Shopify is not live yet, so your store cannot be connected automatically. Until it is, you bring orders in with Shopify’s own export file. It takes about a minute each time.

  1. 1

    Export your orders from Shopify

    • In Shopify admin go to Orders.
    • Tick the orders you want to ship (or leave none ticked to export all), click Export, choose “CSV for Excel, Numbers, or other spreadsheet programs”, and click Export orders.
    • Shopify downloads (or e-mails) a .csv file. Save it.
  2. 2

    Open the import in ShipShop

    • Log in at shipshop.in and go to Orders.
    • Open the In progress tab and click Import CSV.
    • Choose “Shopify order export” at the top of the window.
  3. 3

    Upload the file

    • Click Choose file and pick the Shopify .csv you saved.
    • ShipShop reads the file, groups the line items back into orders and sets COD or prepaid for you. No column matching is needed.
    • Parcel weight and size are not in Shopify’s export. Click “Download format (Shopify columns + weight/size)” to see the extra columns you can add so ShipShop knows the weight and box size.
  4. 4

    Check and import

    • Look at the preview. Fix anything it flags (for example a phone number or pincode).
    • Confirm the import. Your orders appear in Orders → In progress, ready to pick a courier and book.
Part 3

Add the ShipShop block to your theme (download the file)

This puts a “Ship with ShipShop” button, or the ShipShop checkout page itself, anywhere in your store. It does not change Shopify’s own checkout and does not take any payment.

  1. 1

    Download the file

    • Click “Download theme file (.liquid)” at the top of this page, or log in and use Dashboard → Integrations → Download theme section.
    • The file is called shipshop-checkout.liquid. Open it with Notepad (Windows) or TextEdit (Mac), press Ctrl+A / Cmd+A to select everything, then Ctrl+C / Cmd+C to copy.
  2. 2

    Open your theme’s code

    • In Shopify admin go to Online Store → Themes.
    • Next to your live theme click the three dots (⋯), then Edit code.
  3. 3

    Create the section

    • In the left list find the folder called Sections and click Add a new section.
    • Name it exactly shipshop-checkout and click Done.
    • Delete everything in the empty box, paste the text you copied, and click Save (top right).
  4. 4

    Add it to a page

    • Go back to Online Store → Themes and click Customize on your live theme.
    • At the top choose the page you want (for example Home page or a product page).
    • In the left panel click Add section and choose ShipShop checkout. (If it is not in the list your theme is older — use Part 4, Way A instead.)
  5. 5

    Set it up

    • Paste your checkout link from Part 1 in “ShipShop checkout link”.
    • Show as: Button opens your ShipShop checkout page; Embedded checkout page shows the page inside your store.
    • Change the button text and colours or the embedded height if you like, then click Save.
Part 4

Other ways to add it (no theme file needed)

Use these on older themes, or if you prefer not to edit code.

  1. 1

Way A — a button in a Custom HTML / Custom Liquid block

    • Customize your theme, open a page, click Add section (or Add block) and choose Custom Liquid or Custom HTML.
    • Paste the button code shown below, replacing PASTE-YOUR-LINK-HERE with your checkout link, then Save.
  2. 2

Way B — a “Ship with ShipShop” page

    • In Shopify admin go to Online Store → Pages → Add page. Title it “Ship with ShipShop”.
    • In the content box click the <> (Show HTML) button and paste the embed code shown below with your link.
    • Click Save. Then go to Online Store → Navigation → Main menu → Add menu item, name it “Ship with ShipShop”, choose that page and Save so customers can find it.
  3. 3

    Way C — just a menu link

    • Go to Online Store → Navigation → Main menu → Add menu item.
    • Name: Ship with ShipShop. Link: paste your checkout link. Click Add, then Save menu.

Button code (Way A)

<a href="PASTE-YOUR-LINK-HERE" target="_blank" rel="noopener" style="display:inline-block;background:#C79A3A;color:#fff;padding:12px 22px;border-radius:8px;font-weight:600;text-decoration:none">Ship with ShipShop</a>

Embed code (Way B)

<iframe src="PASTE-YOUR-LINK-HERE" title="ShipShop checkout" style="width:100%;min-height:900px;border:0" loading="lazy"></iframe>

Logged in? Dashboard → Integrations shows this code with your link already filled in and a Copy button.

Test it

Check that it works

  • Open your store in a private/incognito window (so you see what customers see).
  • Find the ShipShop button or page. Click it — the ShipShop checkout page should open.
  • Enter a test delivery address and a pincode. You should see courier options and prices.
  • Do not place a real order unless you mean to: placing an order on the ShipShop checkout page books a shipment.
  • In ShipShop go to Dashboard → Orders to see anything that arrived.
Troubleshooting

If something does not work

I cannot find “ShipShop checkout” in Add section
Your theme is probably not an Online Store 2.0 theme. Use Part 4, Way A, B or C instead — they work on every theme.
The button opens a page that says “Checkout not found”
The checkout page is switched off in ShipShop, or the link changed. In ShipShop open Settings → Checkout & payments, choose “Yes, use the ShipShop checkout page”, copy the new link and paste it again.
The embedded checkout is blank or cut off
Some themes or apps block embedded pages. Use the Button option, or Part 4 Way C. You can also raise the height in the section settings.
Shopify says the section has errors when I Save
Make sure you pasted the WHOLE file — from {% comment %} at the top to {% endschema %} at the bottom — and nothing else. Delete everything in the box first.
Store is Connected but no orders appear
Orders import when they are placed after connecting. Check Dashboard → Orders and your date filters, and that the order is paid/unfulfilled in Shopify.
Will ShipShop take my customers’ payments?
No. Shopify’s own checkout takes the payment. ShipShop only books the shipment.
