WooCommerce guide

Connect your WordPress store to ShipShop

A four-step guide: create a WooCommerce API key, connect it in ShipShop, and import your orders. It takes about five minutes.

Before you start

What you need

  • Your WordPress site has WooCommerce installed (plain WordPress without a store has no orders to import).
  • Your site opens on https:// at a normal public address, for example https://yourshop.com.
  • You can log in to WordPress as an administrator, and you have a ShipShop merchant account.

How the connection works

You do not enter any ShipShop address into WordPress. ShipShop connects to your store and reads orders from https://yourshop.com/wp-json/wc/v3/orders using the key you create in Step 2. The only things you give ShipShop are your store URL, the consumer key and the consumer secret.

Step by step

Connect in four steps

  1. 1

Make sure your store address works

ShipShop reads your orders through the WordPress REST address. That address only works when permalinks are not set to Plain.

    • In WordPress go to Settings → Permalinks.
    • Choose anything except Plain (for example Post name) and click Save Changes.
    • Open https://yourshop.com/wp-json/ in a browser. You should see a page of text (JSON), not an error.
  2. 2

Create an API key in WooCommerce

The key lets ShipShop read your orders. You can delete it at any time to cut the connection.

    • Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API and click Add key.
    • Description: ShipShop. User: your administrator account. Permissions: Read/Write.
    • Click Generate API key.
    • Copy the Consumer key (starts with ck_) and the Consumer secret (starts with cs_). WooCommerce shows the secret only once, so keep it safe.
  3. 3

    Connect your store in ShipShop

Enter three values: your store address, the consumer key and the consumer secret.

    • Log in at shipshop.in and open Dashboard → Channels.
    • On the WooCommerce card click Connect.
    • Store URL: https://yourshop.com (no /wp-admin and no slash at the end). Then paste the Consumer key and Consumer secret.
    • Click Connect store. Your store now appears in your list of connections.
  4. 4

    Import your orders

Orders are brought in when you ask for them.

    • On the Channels page click Sync orders next to your store.
    • ShipShop imports your orders that are in Processing status (up to 50 per sync; click Sync orders again for more).
    • Open Orders in ShipShop, pick the best courier and book the shipment as usual.

Good to know

  • Orders whose payment method is COD are imported as Cash on Delivery; all others as Prepaid.
  • Syncing twice does not create duplicate orders.
  • Import starts when you click Sync orders; orders are not pushed the moment they are placed.
  • Tracking numbers are not sent back to WooCommerce automatically. Update the order status in WooCommerce yourself.
Troubleshooting

If something does not work

Store URL is rejected
Use https://, a normal public domain, no port number, and not localhost or a private address.
Sync shows an error or 0 orders
Only orders in Processing status are imported. Check the key has Read/Write permission and was pasted without spaces.
“Not found” (404)
Permalinks are set to Plain. Change them to Post name (Step 1).
“Forbidden” (401 / 403)
A security plugin or firewall (Wordfence, Cloudflare, hosting firewall) may be blocking ShipShop. Ask your host to allow our server 187.127.124.210 to reach /wp-json/.
Want to start again
Disconnect the store on the Channels page, create a new API key in WooCommerce, and connect again.
